01.31.17 broken

Broken Byron!

You might assume, as I did, that this was the result of his madcap daily cycle commute across two boroughs. But no. He slipped in a subway station – how ignominious! Six foot six does not fall with grace.

Though it is his first broken bone. Pretty good record for 45 years on this planet.

01.08.17 marriage

This person wandered into my life when we were both too young to have any fixed ideas about the future. We’ve now been together more than half a lifetime, spanning every major event from college to careers, criss crossing countries and continents, raising eccentric children, mourning the loss of parents.

There is enormous, unquantifiable value in long friendships. I’m lucky beyond measure to be married to my best friend.
